About
Artisan & Creative Director
Dia Robinson is the owner of Twisted Urban Fiber Arts, a textile product and education-based company specializing in making artisan-crafted wool Fiber Batts, hand-dyed Roving, and Yarn. Our mission is to show how fiber arts can be a tool to improve mental health by providing customers with tools and knowledge to create unique textile artwork and teaching how repetitive tactile movements can help decrease stress and anxiety in their lives.
In addition, our goal is to use fiber arts to inspire others to discover their own creative expression and connect globally with other fiber arts enthusiasts through representation.
Dia is the creator of the wildly popular "Inspire Blend" video series, where she creates a fiber representation of a chosen photo by blending colored wool.
She has taught at multiple textile conferences, such as the 2021 Mid-Atlantic Fiber Arts Conference and Maryland Sheep and Wool's 2022 Winterfest. This fall, she will teach at Spin Off Magazine's SOAR conference.
Her work has also been featured in magazines such as tinyStudio's Creative Life, Issue 7- May 2020, Spin Off Magazine Fall 2021 Issue, and Interweave Knits Winter 2022 Issue.

Dia believes that we have more commonalities than differences and that fiber arts can help bridge the gap between culture and diversity as we discover and nurture the common threads that connect us.
